You are going to need a logo of some kind for your new website. There are many ways to easily create a logo.
It can be something very simple such as just text or something more complicated like a new graphic design.
Your logo will be the most visually recognizable part of your brand. However, when you are first starting out, using a simple text logo is a good way to go. It’s quick, easy, and you can always upgrade later on as you get a better feel for what you are actually building.
Create One From Scratch
If you are familiar with and have access to a graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, they are perfect tools for logo creation. Although there are some time and skill requirements for creating your own logo on your own, you have the most control of the process this way. It is the most time-consuming way, for you, and it can be expensive unless you already own a license to one of these programs.
If you don’t use graphics programs, are rusty with them, or you maybe you would prefer to concentrate your efforts on creating your content or other areas of your blog, there are options that will make it easier for you.
Use a Template
Canva is a service that offers a variety of free logo templates. While you aren’t starting a logo from scratch with a template, you will still need to put some time into the logo by changing the text, colors and maybe the font. There is likely one that you will find acceptable to use. And while it may look similar to logos of anyone who has also used that one, free is certainly affordable.
Create a Logo Contest
Logo contests are such a great idea. You get the benefit of choosing from multiple designs from multiple designers. One provider I feel is such a great choice is 99designs. You submit your ideas for your logo design and then create a ‘logo contest’ on their site. Multiple designers then create their logos based on your specifications and submit them to your contest. This option offers a variety of designs to choose from. You can begin a contest at 99designs.
Hire a Graphic Designer
Another option is to use a freelance website, such as Upwork, and hire a graphic designer you can work with one on one to create the perfect logo for your blog. This will likely be the most expensive option in cash, but not necessarily in time. If you are going to spend hours trying to create your own, you save all of that time to work on what you do best in your business and leave the logo creation to an expert.
Don’t let this hold you up from getting your site started. Get a logo, even if it is just your domain name in a plain font, and get started.
